Big floats (shape of sea breams) parade in sea water.
The ritual is carried out to pray for big catch of fishing and prosperity of the town.
10-18ｍ length of banboos are used as frame of the floats.
The floats reminds us of Minamichita that town of fishery.
This festival started in 1886 and shape of the floats was mouse.
Since then the shape has been changed like big sea bream in Taisho period (1912- 1926), then peple sit inside the float and play drums, shamisen (strings), and traditional flute in early Showa period.
