Furusato (hometown)
Four Season

Flower

for Fun
Japan's "F" is main concept.

This site "F-pedia" provides information of seasonal festivals and flower viewing spots throughout Japan.  You can search the information not only PC, but also smartphone.
We dispatch the above mentioned information from Tokyo both in Japane and English.
As of April, 2014, we have about 750 data (totally about 1,500 if English versions are added).

●Background to set up the site
Due to Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami on 11 March, 2011, Japan's tourism indusry and other economic activities were sufferred from damage.  Numbers of visitors from foreign countries decreased and even Japanese people precticed self-control not to travel.
On the other hand, some parts of Japanese towns and villges have problems such as vanishing of their rituals and traditions that they have been succeeding for long time from ancestors. Due to low birth rate of infant and small population without youths, local towns and villages are facing problems of few participants for local festivals and successors of them.

Therefore, in April, 2012, we set up the site "F-pedia" to liven up Japan's local towns and villages by promoting their tradition, customs, history and natural features (flower viewing spots etc.).
We hope not only Japanese, but also many foreign visitors visit such local areas and gain deeper insight of Japan.

●Purpose
① To create the site that suits concept of "Visit Japan" of Japan Tourim Agency.
② To liven up local and Japan's economy by promoting Japan's attractive features and increasing numbers of visitors (at home and foreign countries).
③ To promote attractive festivals and flower viewing spots throughout Japan.
④ To hand down tradition, customs, rituals, and beautiful beautiful scenic places of Japan that our ancestors has been succeeded for long time.

●Our focus
According to the White Paper of Tourism, most foreign visitors come to Japan to experience food, onsen (hot springs), shopping, pop-cultures.  And there are many web site that promote such fields.

However, it is kind of rare to see and find the site that promote Japan's tradition, customs, and rituals even though some foreigners or big fan of Japan try to search such infromation.
We "F-pedia" focus on the features of tradition, rituals, and flowers (that our ancestors wrote in short poem called "Waka" since ancient times).

We believe our role is not only providing information of Japanese tradition, customs and beautiful scenic features, but also handing them down to generations to genarations, our offsprings.
